Max & Flo Kindness Fund

We launched this fund at our Gold Ribbon Ball in December 2023 in memory of 2 very special children Max Farish and Florence Stokes who had sadly passed away earlier that year within days of each other.  

At their funerals their families spoke of how kind they were, how they always put others before themselves and despite going through very harsh cancer treatments they always gave time to think of others.  

We already knew this as these children (and their families) are very dear to us and their loss was devastating. It seemed only right that we should use their names to launch a fund that is already making a difference to our CCPA families. 

 We have already seen an unprecedented rise in the number of families that are struggling to cope financially with the impact of their child’s treatment. Having a child with cancer increases day to day living costs with travel to hospital, parking charges, extra food, clothes and heating bills at a time when families almost always face a significant drop in income when one parent leaves employment to be able to accompany their child for the rigours of their life-saving treatment. Add to this the current economic climate and families face debt and the inability to have even the simplest of treats when they desperately want to make precious memories with their children because the future is unknown.  

Due to the generosity of the public and the fundraising efforts of the families and friends of Max and Flo we have already been able to send financial support to many of our families, including purchasing a wheelchair, providing extra treats and days out and shopping vouchers. All our families received shopping vouchers at Christmas to help them cope with the extra costs around this time.  

Our fund is ongoing, and we will always look for ways to make a difference, we will always be kind and we will carry on the legacy of these two amazing children.
