Shrove Tuesday 2025 got off to a flying start with a team of CCPA Stars joining the annual Stafford Pancake Relay Race in Market Square and BBC World News was there!
Rachael Olley, Sian Brown, Sophie Hardy and Emily Mincher (on her very first day at CCPA!) took turns to expertly flip their way across the course. Throughout the fun-packed event, runners were supported by Sarah Canning and the best Cheer Team in the Square, made up of CCPA families and volunteers.
Joined by teams from various local business and groups, each competitor had to flip their pancake twice on each of the two legs with the fastest team progressing to the final.
The fun was all organised by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Stafford Borough Council and the first races began under the watchful eye of Guest of Honour, Cllr Frank James, Mayor of Stafford.
Although the CCPA Stars were ultimately beaten by the Staffordshire Building Society team, that doesn’t mean that their brilliant efforts went unnoticed as no less than BBC World News showed up!
